For just the second time in my life, I was deposed today. We started at 9 AM at the State Bar of Arizona in the Yucca conference room (a place I have been many times, including as a volunteer arbitrator working for the bar).
It went fine. Below is a video with some additional comments.
The Murder Scene, Minus People

One thing I forgot to mention in the video — at the end of the depo (which was honestly MUCH friendlier than expected), Jim Lee stopped and wanted to ask me about my….cufflinks. Not kidding. Jim said he rarely sees anyone wearing French cuffs anymore, so he wanted to look at mine, and at my cufflinks in particular.
But here’s the fun part – you guys know how much I enjoy easter eggs….so look at the cufflinks I chose for today. GET IT??🐎
I crack myself up….

In other news, the PDJ issued an order today which seems like a pretty good omen.
The judge could have denied this (but realistically, that is kind of impossible for technical reasons). Still, the tone of this seems good, and I like the substance. She seems to understand the anti-SLAPP law is new/different, and my anti-SLAPP motion needs to be treated carefully.
Doesn’t mean I won’t lose, but it means she’s taking her time….and that’s a good thing.
